Here's a recap of the interesting points and miles news from the week.

Get 25% off economy tickets on Virgin when buying with points.

25% Percent Off Economy Awards With Virgin Flying Club: Almost all routes are discounted by 25% on Virgin Atlantic when you redeem your Virgin Flying Club miles for economy travel by January 27, 2014. Blackout dates are between April 4-21,2014 and July 16-September 2, 2014. The airline is also running a 25% buy miles bonus through February 10, but remember, you can convert American Express Membership Rewards points to Virgin – these transfer immediately as long as your Amex and Virgin accounts are already linked.

2X Miles with Rocketmiles: To celebrate the culmination of the NFL season, Rocketmiles is offering members who book a premium hotel room in Boston, Denver, San Francisco or Seattle by 11:59pm CT today double miles for travel through May 1, 2014. Limited to one bonus per customer and one stay. Only new reservations count, and reservations longer than 7 days do not count.

Get 2,500 bonus miles when you sign up for Jet Privilege.

Jet Privilege Offering 2,500 Miles For New Account Sign Up: If you are not already an existing member, you can earn 2,500 JP miles when you sign up for Jet Privilege, Jet Airway's frequent flyer program. Jet Airways flies both domestic and international routes mainly from India, and you can sign up for the program here.

Get 300 La Quinta Returns bonus points.

Get 300 La Quinta Bonus Points: Simply submit your name and membership number to obtain 300 La Quinta Returns points. You also have to watch a short video. You must be an existing La Quinta Returns member at time of participation, and you can sign up for an account here. Allow at least 72 hours for points to be posted to account. You have until February 15, 2014 to participate.

Get 50% more AAdvantage miles on Us Airways flights.

Reminder - Earn 50% More AAdvantage Miles on US Airways Flights: As a little perk of the ongoing American and US Airways merger, you can earn 50% More AAdvantage Miles on US Airways flights you credit to your AA account, and vice versa when you travel between January 13 and March 2, 2014. The two airlines begin phase one of their codesharing on January 23, 2014. You can register here and make sure to use the promo code: AAUSM. You must just register before flying (even if your flights are already purchased, they will count as long as you register before travel) and they don't have to be the new codeshared flights.

Get double points on Jet Blue.

Reminder - Get Double Base Points On Jet Blue: JetBlue is offering double base points for flights purchased and flown between now and March 3, 2014. That means instead of the usual 3X points per $1 you earn on JetBlue fares, you'll earn 6X points. Base points count toward qualifying for Mosaic, the airline's elite status program, so that means you'll only have to spend half as much to earn the same amount of points you normally would. You must register prior to booking qualifying travel, and unfortunately, all travel booked prior to this offer (or previous travel that you change after registering) will not earn double points – only those flights purchased and booked during the promotion period.

Earn a 100% bonus on purchased miles with US Airways.

Reminder - Targeted US Airways 100% Bonus On Purchased Miles Through January 31, 2014: You can earn a 100% bonus on purchased miles now through January 31, 2014. That means you can buy US Airways miles for the bargain price of just 1.88 cents each. Not only that, but if you use them before March 30, 2014, you can redeem for Star Alliance awards, whereas on March 31, or after, you can use them for Oneworld awards, so there are some great opportunities here. This also might be a cheap way for some of you to buy miles that will eventually become American miles once the AAdvantage and Dividend programs are merged.

Buy miles with United to reach the next level of status.

Purchase PQMs Or PQSs To Qualify For Higher Status In 2014: Any MileagePlus members that are within 15,000 PQM's or 15 PQS's of reaching a higher level or renewing their status can purchase Premier Qualifying Miles or Premier Qualifying Segments in order to reach the next level of status. You have until February 28th, 2014 to purchase the miles. Buying those PQM's can be an expensive proposition with prices starting at about $200 per thousand, but if you're close to the threshold at a high tier, it could be worth it for you.
