Whether or not you're a fan of former President Barack Obama, we can all agree that spending eight years in the White House is incredibly stressful. After occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for that long, it's only natural that any ex-president would seek a little R&R.

Lately, Obama has been doing just that, first visiting Palm Springs with his entire family, then vacationing with former First Lady Michelle Obama on Sir Richard Branson's private-island paradise, Necker Island. Now it seems he's continuing his post-presidential extravaganza in French Polynesia.

On March 15, Obama arrived in Tahiti by way of private jet. Shortly after landing, he boarded a private plane to The Brando, a luxury resort on Tetiaroa, a Polynesian atoll 30 miles north of Tahiti, a place that was once the go-to vacation spot of the island's royalty and was later purchased by actor and director Marlon Brando as a personal retreat in the 1960s. The Brando is an eco-luxe resort that's entirely self-sustainable — it uses solar energy and coconut oil for power while sea water contributes to the resort's air conditioning system, among other eco-friendly features.

Obama will be staying in French Polynesia for the next month or so, mainly to work on his memoir, which will reportedly be worth $60 million. It's not certain if he'll be visiting some of the other nearby islands while he's there or be joined by his wife (whose memoir is also part of the $60 million deal) — we just hope he continues to work on those sweet kitesurfing skills.
