Cruise giant Carnival doubles down on sailings to Bermuda
Cruise giant Carnival is significantly expanding its presence in the Bermuda cruise market.
The world's second largest cruise line on Tuesday announced plans for more Bermuda cruises in 2025 than it has ever offered in a single year — 22 sailings in all.
That's up from 14 sailings to Bermuda scheduled for 2024 and more than double the number of Bermuda sailings the line regularly offered just a few years ago.
The Bermuda sailings will take place on a trio of Carnival ships based in three of Carnival's East Coast hubs: New York City; Norfolk, Virginia; and Baltimore, Maryland.
Eight of the 22 sailings will be operated by Carnival Venezia, a new, 4,090-passenger Carnival vessel that the line has based year-round in New York. It's a newer and larger ship than Carnival has stationed in the city in the past, and it's offering a wide range of itineraries to not just Bermuda but also the Bahamas, the Caribbean, New England and Canada.
Carnival on Tuesday also announced that Carnival Venezia would offer a range of new eight-, nine- and 10-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries out of New York in 2025, with stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; St. Maarten; Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas and the new Celebration Key private beach getaway the line is developing in the Bahamas.

The newly announced 2025 Bermuda sailings from Norfolk, Virginia, will take place on the 3,006-passenger Carnival Sunshine. The 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride will operate the sailings from Baltimore.
The 22 Bermuda departures planned for 2025 include:
- Four-day routings from New York that include a single day in Bermuda
- Five-day trips from New York with a two-day stay in Bermuda
- Six-day trips from Norfolk that include a two-day stay in Bermuda
- Seven-day trips from Baltimore with three days in Bermuda
In addition, two Carnival ships crossing the Atlantic in 2025 from Europe to North America — the 2,980-passenger Carnival Glory and 2,124-passenger Carnival Spirit — will make stops in Bermuda on their way westward.
Including those two sailings, Carnival will have 24 itineraries in 2025 that touch Bermuda.

Fares for the newly announced Bermuda sailings start at $429 per person, based on double occupancy, for the four-night sailings from New York. The six- and seven-night sailings start at $619 and $769 per person, based on double occupancy, respectively.
The fares don't include taxes, fees and port charges of as much as $249.65 per person.
