The cards we feature here are from partners who compensate us when you are approved through our site, and this may impact how or where these products appear. We don’t cover all available credit cards, but our analysis, reviews, and opinions are entirely from our editorial team. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information.

Even though this year's wedding season is coming to an end, you're probably already saving the date (or dates?) for next year's round of nuptial celebrations. From bachelor and bachelorette parties to wedding showers, destination weddings to gift registries, there's no better time than the present to start planning for those future expenses.

And perhaps no card is better positioned for this endeavor than the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card.

With Venture X, you earn an unlimited 2 miles per dollar spent on every purchase — and even more on bookings through Capital One Travel — while enjoying other valuable benefits. It's the perfect card to maximize your rewards on those upcoming wedding-related costs — whether it's shopping for a gift, picking out your outfit or booking travel for a loved one's big day.

So whether you're the happy couple, a member of the all-too-important bridal party or a guest flying in from out of town, you're going to want to make use of the Capital One Venture X card.

Make the most of wedding season travel

The Viceroy Riviera Maya is just one luxury resort that’s a part of the Premier Collection from Capital One Travel. CAPITAL ONE

One of the most valuable perks of Venture X is its $300 annual credit for purchases made through Capital One Travel. Using the $300 credit to book airfare or rent a car for an out-of-town wedding leaves money in your pocket for other expenses (terms apply).

Venture X also grants complimentary airport lounge access across the U.S. (and around the world) through its network of participating lounges. At Capital One Lounges, recharge with all-inclusive amenities like healthy, chef-inspired food and drinks that you can sit and savor — or grab snacks to go — before boarding your flight. You'll find locations in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and — newly opened as of this year — Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Denver International Airport (DEN). You can view full access details at this page.

In addition, Venture X cardholders can activate a Priority Pass Select membership (terms apply).

And if you need a rental car to reach the wedding destination or to explore the surrounding area, Venture X also has you covered. For starters, you'll enjoy primary car rental coverage, meaning you'll be reimbursed for damage or theft when you pay for a rental car with the Venture X card (certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply; see Visa Infinite Guide to Benefits for details).

Additionally, you are eligible to enroll in complimentary Hertz President's Circle status, the highest level of membership in the Gold Plus Rewards program, through your Venture X card. You'll get access to the widest selection of rental vehicles and a car-class upgrade at participating locations (terms apply).

Lastly, when it comes time to book your accommodations, you'll enjoy access to the Premier and Lifestyle Collections from Capital One Travel, each of which features a hand-picked portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts that offer VIP benefits to cardholders on every stay. You can learn more about the Premier Collection at this link and the Lifestyle Collection at this link — along with full Capital One Travel terms and conditions by clicking here.

Earn rewards on all purchases

CAPITAL ONE

The appeal of the Capital One Venture X card extends beyond your perks while on the road. You can also leverage the card to earn rewards on both your travel purchases and any other wedding-related expenses you incur.

When you book hotels or rental cars through Capital One Travel, you'll earn 10 miles per dollar spent. Meanwhile, flights booked through Capital One Travel earn 5 miles per dollar spent.

Finally, for any other transactions, you'll earn 2 miles per dollar spent. This covers a huge range of potential purchases you can charge to your card during wedding season, including:

  • Grocery runs ahead of a bridal shower
  • Wedding gifts for the happy couple, no matter where they're registered
  • Tuxedo rentals, bridesmaid dresses or any other apparel
  • Event space for the rehearsal dinner or reception
  • Hair, makeup or other beauty treatments on the big day

And new cardholders can earn 75,000 bonus miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.

Redeem your miles for wedding travel

SAKIS PAPADOPOULOS

Once you've earned that welcome bonus and racked up those rewards, you have so many ways to redeem your earnings for wedding travel.

To maximize the value of your Capital One miles, you can transfer them to one of over 15 airline and hotel partners. From there, you can redeem your rewards for airline tickets to that far-flung destination wedding or on hotel accommodations (subject to the terms and conditions of each miles transfer partner).

You also have the option to charge travel purchases to your card and then cover them with your miles. This redemption method includes traditional travel items like airfare and hotel stays but also extends to vacation rentals, ride-hailing services like Uber and even tolls.

And if you're the one saying "I do," you can easily redeem your hard-earned miles on that perfect honeymoon that you've been dreaming about — whether that's on a premium-class flight or a luxury stay at a Premier Collection property.
