The roof is raised, albeit temporarily, on a major loyalty partnership between Caesars and Wyndham across the U.S.

The transfer maximum between Wyndham Rewards and Caesars Rewards has increased for a limited time from 60,000 points to 100,000 points, the companies announced Wednesday morning. Wyndham Rewards members can also receive up to 25% off plus 2,500 bonus points on bookings through Wyndham for participating Caesars Rewards destinations.

Some of our favorite Caesars Rewards properties include Nobu Hotel Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (Lisa Vanderpump's Vanderpump à Paris restaurant, anyone?) and Harrah's New Orleans Hotel & Casino.

While details of the boosted transfer bonus cap end date weren't provided, Wyndham Rewards members must book their Caesars Rewards stay via the Wyndham booking platform by Dec. 1 and complete their stay by Jan. 31, 2024, to receive the discount and bonus points.

"We're champions of the everyday traveler, and wherever people go, we want a Wyndham waiting there to welcome them," Lisa Checchio, Wyndham's chief marketing officer, told TPG via email. "Caesars helps us to deliver just that with their award-winning portfolio of aspirational resorts across incredible destinations like Las Vegas, New Orleans, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe and more."

Caesars and Wyndham's major Las Vegas giveaway

Wyndham and Caesars also announced a giveaway for a Las Vegas weekend getaway for two. The grand prize winner will receive the following:

  • A three-day, two-night stay in a premium room at Caesars Palace
  • Round-trip domestic airfare for two
  • Two tickets to a show of the winner's choice (up to $1,000)
  • Two tickets for the High Roller Observation Wheel (includes open bar)
  • Celebrity chef-inspired dinner (up to $250) at a restaurant of the winner's choice, such as Amalfi by Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen or The Bedford by Martha Stewart
  • $1,000 in Caesars Rewards credits (provided as 100,000 Wyndham Rewards points)

Seven runner-up winners will each receive 77,000 Wyndham Rewards points. You can sign up by clicking here and registering through Dec. 1.

"Vegas is a bucket list destination featuring some of the best hotels, food and entertainment in the world," Checchio said in a statement. "Through our longstanding collaboration with Caesars Rewards — one of, if not the richest partnerships in travel — our more than 105 million enrolled members receive VIP access, helping them unlock all the city has to offer."

How does the Wyndham Rewards and Caesars Rewards partnership work?

Wyndham and Caesars first partnered in 2017 on a loyalty crossover program that includes a status match and a 1:1 points transfer. Through the partnership's status match, Platinum and Diamond members of each program will match to the same level in the other program. Caesars Rewards Seven Stars members can match to Wyndham Diamond.

This means Wyndham Rewards members who status match at Platinum get benefits like free parking, while Diamond-matched members get resort fees waived when staying at Caesars Rewards properties. Caesars Rewards members, in turn, get benefits like free Wi-Fi, late checkout, a preferred room and, with a Diamond match, welcome amenities and suite upgrades when staying at a Wyndham-affiliated hotel.

Transferring 100,000 Wyndham Rewards points to Caesars Rewards points equates to $1,000 to go toward show tickets, meals and hotel expenses, according to the promotion. That's slightly less than the $1,100 value TPG would value this number of Wyndham Rewards points this month at its 1.1 cents per point valuation.

There is also the option to transfer the 100,000 Wyndham Rewards points to Caesars Entertainment for $500 in gaming credits, but that would be significantly below TPG's valuation of Wyndham Rewards points.

Why now?

The promotion and boosted transfer come at a time when all eyes in the hospitality orbit are on Las Vegas.

MGM Resorts is ending its loyalty partnership with Hyatt in favor of a deeper partnership with Marriott, which is set to begin next year. While details of that program aren't clear just yet, it is evident this is going to be a major force to reckon with in Las Vegas and other U.S. markets where MGM Resorts has a presence.

To better compete with the burgeoning hotel-gaming marriage giant that is Marriott and MGM, other players have to keep up. Wyndham and Caesars just threw their hat into the ring, and we'd expect more hotel companies to do something in this vein in the coming months.

It doesn't appear Wyndham is fearful of Caesars playing a game of hotel partner musical chairs like MGM Resorts.

"We have a very close relationship with the team at Caesars and consider our partnership to be one of the richest and most successful in the industry—combining the #1 hotel rewards program with the #1 gaming and entertainment rewards program," Checchio said. "It also happens to be one the longest and most established partnerships of its kind, with next summer marking lucky number seven when it comes to our years of partnership. Put simply, we've hit the jackpot—and we think our members have too."
