American Airlines announced on Thursday an 18-route regional and Canada network expansion, as well as an increase in frequencies to two of its European destinations. The timing of the route expansion from AA comes in time for the busy summer 2019 travel period, with all of the additions being either year-round or strictly summer seasonal service.

On the international front, American is adding more seats from its hub in Dallas (DFW) to Europe — specifically Paris (CDG) and Madrid (MAD). Beginning June 6, 2019, AA will place a second daily service on its already-existing routes between DFW and the two European cities. Both the second daily Paris route and the Madrid frequency will be operated by a Boeing 787-9 — you can read a full review of that aircraft in business and Main Cabin Extra here. Both additional daily frequencies will end on Oct. 27, 2019.

The second daily frequency between DFW and CDG will operate on the following schedule:

  • AA22 Dallas (DFW) 8:30pm Departure ⇒ Paris (CDG) 12:45pm (+1) Arrival
  • AA23 Paris (CDG) 3:25pm Departure ⇒ Dallas (DFW) 6:50pm Arrival

The second Madrid route will operate on the following schedule:

  • AA156 Dallas (DFW) 8:50pm Departure ⇒ Madrid (MAD) 1:05pm (+1) Arrival
  • AA157 Madrid (MAD) 4:55pm Departure ⇒ Dallas (DFW) 8:20pm Arrival

As the highlight of the regional route announcements, AA will fly to a new destination that'll get outdoor enthusiasts excited. More specifically, the carrier will begin flying to Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) in Kalispell, Montana. Beginning June 6, 2019, AA will fly daily during the summer season from Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX) and Chicago (ORD) to Glacier National Park.

Not all of the regional route announcements are domestic. AA's also adding summer service to Halifax (YHZ) from both LaGuardia (LGA) and Philadelphia (PHL). The carrier previously flew between Philly and the Canadian city, though that ended in 2016, as the carrier cited low demand. Service connecting LGA and Halifax is completely new.

AA will add the following routes beginning in 2019:
