Dreaming of lounging poolside somewhere beautiful? Us too.

Even as countries in Europe and further afield, thanks to the pandemic, Americans have fallen in love all over again with this beautiful country we call home. The allure of a European vacation is tempting, to be sure, but there are plenty of places within our borders that make for a fantastic vacation.

And what's a better vacation activity than lounging poolside? We can't think of many. Luckily, the United States has a number of stunning pools to choose from -- here are nine of them to inspire your next domestic getaway.

Garden of the Gods Resort and Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado

At the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club, guests can enjoy the heated, adults-only infinity pool year-round. Swimmers and loungers will enjoy prime views of the famous Garden of the Gods with Pikes Peak in the distance.

During peak summer months, you can expect to pay at least $540 per night, but prices fall below the $400 mark in the fall. Come winter, the price drops along with the temperature -- nights can be had from about $225.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort is located in Arizona's picturesque Paradise Valley, near Scottsdale. You can cool off in the pool while enjoying stunning views of the famous Camelback Mountain.

When it's hot (like, really hot) in Arizona, prices are relatively cool, with nights starting from $375, but as the temperature dips in the rest of the country, it heats up at Sanctuary, with rates often exceeding $1,000 per night.

This property can be booked through Amex's Fine Hotels and Resorts, which will entitle you to elite-like perks including room upgrades, property credits, daily breakfast for two and more.

If Jackson Hole wasn't already on your list of places to visit, here's another reason to add it. The Amangani heated infinity pool offers stunning views of the Grand Tetons and the Snake River Range, making it the perfect spot to relax after a long day of skiing or hiking.

When it comes to pricing, this luxury property tends to run on the high end no matter the season. However, it's especially pricey during the summer months with rooms going for a minimum of $1,100 a night. In the fall, winter and spring, you can snag a room from $800 a night.

This property can also be booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts, which will land you valuable perks like room upgrades, property credits, daily breakfast for two and more.

The Biltmore pool is famous for being one of the largest pools in the continental U.S. At 23,000 square feet, there's plenty of room for everyone to soak up the Florida sun while staying cool in the pool.

Even better, this is a fairly affordable property, no matter the season, and participates in the Fine Hotels and Resorts program so you really can get a tremendous amount of value from your stay here, thanks to its many perks.

If you're looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City, the Equinox Hotel is definitely worth checking out. While the pool itself is a fairly standard rectangle, it's the location in the heart of New York's newest purpose-built neighborhood, Hudson Yards.

Wellness in a prime location like this doesn't come cheap, unsurprisingly. You'll find peak pricing in the spring and fall with rates teetering between $700 and $900 nightly. But, this hotel can be booked through Amex FHR, entitling you to perks that will enhance your stay even further.

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle in Washington

Seattle isn't the first place you'd think of when talking about rooftop pools. But, the heated infinity pool at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is sure to change your thinking. It's the perfect place to take in views of Elliott Bay and relax after a day exploring the vibrant Pacific Northwest metropolis.

If you'd like to book a stay for yourself, this hotel participates in the Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts program, so you can squeeze extra value out of your booking.

The Coliseum Pool at the Resort at Pelican Hill was inspired by the eponymous Roman arena. This pool is one of the largest circular pools in the world and boasts views of the beautiful Newport coast. And, if it's just the view you're after, you can grab lunch and a drink at Coliseum Pool & Grill, even if you're not a resort guest.

This property also participates in Amex's Fine Hotels and Resorts program.
