From time to time, there are some great promotions offered by hotel loyalty programs that let you save money and earn extra points. Likewise, you can save even more when you leverage targeted Amex Offers and Chase Offers.

These offers generally give you a set discount on purchases with specific merchants; for example, $25 off a $100 purchase. Hotel brands are some of the most common merchants to appear in Amex and Chase offers, often providing cash discounts on paid hotel stays.

Right now, a handful of hotels — including some of Marriott's and Hyatt's most popular brands — have ongoing targeted offers. Let's take a look at some of the best.

Amex Offers

One of the reasons I hold multiple Amex cards is the ability to take advantage of a variety of Amex Offers. Thanks to specific, targeted offers, I have saved thousands of dollars with statement credits over the years.

While specific offers are targeted and vary by card, I did find some good hotel-related offers when I last checked my account. Note that you might have different offers than I do on your Amex accounts.

Arguably the best offer is one for Grand Hyatt stays. You can get $60 back when you spend $300 or more at Grand Hyatt properties. This offer is valid for all Grand Hyatt properties in the U.S., Mexico and the Bahamas. This offer expires Dec. 15.

There is also an Amex Offer for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Europe. You can get $100 back if you spend $500 or more on your hotel stay. This offer expires Sept. 30.

AMERICANEXPRESS.COM

Lastly, there is a great offer with MGM. You can get $80 back if you spend $400 or more at select MGM properties. It is worth noting that this offer is only valid at select destinations. You want to make sure to read the terms and conditions to ensure your offer will apply to your next MGM stay. This offer expires Nov. 30.

Finally, this offer gives you $10 back when you spend $50 or more on a Hotels.com gift card. You can use this to effectively score a $10 discount on any hotel stay you book through Hotels.com, as you can buy a gift card for yourself and redeem it toward your next stay. This offer expires Nov. 30.

AMERICANEXPRESS.COM

It's worth noting that you must add Amex Offers to your card before making a purchase. You can only add one offer per cardmember across all your American Express cards, so try and add offers to cards that also earn bonus points on the purchase you're making. Amex Offers are often targeted and typically vary by card.

Chase Offers

There are some great Chase Offers available right now, primarily with Hyatt and Marriott.

The first offer I saw was through Hyatt House. You can earn 15% back on your Hyatt House stay when you spend $100 or more. There is a limit of $38 back. This offer is only valid for domestic Hyatt House properties and expires next week on Sept. 24.

CHASE.COM

The next offer was for a Hyatt Place stay. You can earn 15% back on your Hyatt Place stay when you spend $100 or more with a limit of $38 back. Like the Hyatt House offer, this offer is only valid for domestic Hyatt Place properties. It also expires Sept. 24.

CHASE.COM

There are also good Chase Offers for specific Marriott brands. The first one is for TownePlace Suites by Marriott. You can earn 15% back on your TownePlace Suites stay when you spend $100 or more. There is a limit of $88.50 back and the offer expires Sept. 30.

CHASE.COM

There is also an offer for Fairfield by Marriott. You can earn 15% back on your Fairfield stay when you spend $100 or more. There is a limit of $57 back and the offer expires Sept. 23.

CHASE.COM

It's very important to know that all these promotions, just like all Chase Offers, are valid one time only. As is typical with these offers, payment must be made directly with the merchant and they are not valid on third-party services. Like Amex Offers, Chase Offers are often targeted and typically vary by card.

Bottom line

Amex Offers and Chase Offers can be beneficial if you have upcoming hotel stays, so check your accounts before you book.

Remember, these offers are targeted and change regularly. So even if you don't have a useful offer now, you might find something the next time your offers are updated.
