Two hotel promotions - from Starwood and Club Carlson - are now open for registration, so be sure to get in on both and earn bonus points for your hotel stays this winter.

Starwood Preferred Guest Power Up

Registration is now open for SPG's Power Up Promotion. From January 15 - April 15, 2013, you can earn up to 18,000 bonus Starpoints across all hotels and resorts in the SPG program. You'll earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints for every four eligible nights you stay (up to 8,000 bonus Starpoints and 16 nights). When you reach a total of 20 eligible nights, earn an additional 10,000 bonus Starpoints and keep in mind nights will accrue across multiple stays.

While not the richest promotion at a max bonus of 900 points per night, it is pretty straight forward and it seems as if every stay at a participating SPG property will be eligible for the bonus points (no big exclusions like we've seen in the past).

I plan on leveraging both this and Starwood's Le Meridien promotion, which runs through February 29, 2013, to earn even more points since you get 1,000 bonus Starpoints on your first eligible stay then 2,000 bonus Starpoints on each following stay at participating properties in North America and French Polynesia, and there is no limit to the number of bonus Starpoints that can be earned during the promotion period. Here are the SPG Power Up Terms and Conditions.

Club Carlson Triple Points

Club Carlson announced the launch of the Club Carlson Triple Points Returns promotion, where members of the global hotel rewards program can earn triple Gold Points for eligible nights at over 1,000 Carlson Rezidor hotels worldwide now through March 15, 2013. Club Carlson members may register here.

As a reminder, you must be a Club Carlson member to participate in the Triple Points promotion. To be eligible to earn 40 Gold Points per dollar spent in addition to the standard 20 Gold Points per dollar spent, members must register online for the promotion and provide their Club Carlson number at the time of reservation or at check-in for eligible stays.

Earn Triple Points with Club Carlson.

Since TPG Managing Editor Eric plans on staying at the Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore, this will be a way for him to rack up some bonus point when he is there. Club Carlson seems to be the new Hyatt lately, with all their recent lucrative promotions and their new line of credit cards from US Bank.

Just as a reminder, the new Club Carlson Rewards Premier Visa Signature comes with up to 85,000 Bonus Gold Points to start. Receive 50,000 Gold Points after your first purchase, plus 35,000 points after you spend $2,500 on your card within the first 90 days. You'll earn an additional 10 points per dollar on eligible purchases at participating Carlson Rezidor hotels worldwide and 5 points per dollar everywhere else . It also comes with Automatic Gold Elite Status once the card is used. Existing Gold Elite members receive 15 qualifying nights toward Concierge Elite Status.
