Sunshine sale: Fly to the Caribbean from $226 round-trip
The only hard part of finding a new fare sale to the Caribbean is deciding which tropical paradise to visit. This deal includes flights to a slew of irresistible island destinations like Aruba, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and more.
There are plenty of departure cities in the U.S. to choose from, too, such as Austin, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York City, among others. Even better, we found a lot of nonstop options.
The travel window for this deal is from April 2024 through February of 2025. Make sure to check the entire time frame because availability varies by route.
As with many fare sales, this one involves basic economy tickets. With some airlines, that includes a free carry-on. With JetBlue and United Airlines, it does not. So, expect to pay an extra $35-$45 each way to check luggage with those airlines.
Deal basics
Airlines: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Copa Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Silver Airways, United Airlines

How to book: Browse Google Flights, then book directly with the airline
Travel dates: Mostly between April 2024 and February 2025; some routes include holidays

Let's start in the Northeast with a fantastic deal to the Bahamas.
You can fly from Boston to Nassau in late April for only $253 round-trip.
This is a split-ticket fare. The outbound flight is on JetBlue, which means no free carry-on bag. The return flight is on American, so you can get your free carry-on. The caveat is that there is a layover on the way back home.
Still, that's about one-third the usual price for this ticket.

Boston to Montego Bay in May is only $339 round-trip on JetBlue — and it's a nonstop flight.

Flights from Boston to the Cayman Islands are also on sale. We found a few outstanding prices, like this early June itinerary to Grand Cayman for only $357 round-trip on Air Canada.
There is a layover each way, including a long stop in Toronto on the return flight. However, Air Canada's economy tickets come with a free carry-on bag.

New York City-to-Nassau routes are widely available at a discount from May all the way through December.
We found many nonstop flights on Delta from JFK to the Bahamas for just $226 round-trip. That is a nice price at any time, but especially around May or June as summer travel heats up.

The Dominican Republic also comes into play. There are some excellent fares available out of Newark for people who like to plan months in advance.
You can jet from Newark to Punta Cana in February for just $279 round-trip on United. The outbound flight has a layover, but your return flight is nonstop.

If you live in Texas, it might be time to start planning a trip to Belize.
There are some nice markdowns on flights to this country (which is part of the Caribbean collective despite being on the eastern coast of Central America).
There are flights from Dallas to Belize City for just $336, which is roughly half the normal cost for that itinerary.

The best deals we found for West Coast travelers were from LA to the Bahamas.
We found good availability for flights from LAX to Nassau in June for $404 on American. You have a layover each way, but you do get your free carry-on bag.

Maximize your purchase
When you book this deal or any flights, be sure to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card: 2 points per dollar spent on travel
- American Express® Gold Card: 3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through amextravel.com
- The Platinum Card® from American Express: 5 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel (on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®: 8 points per dollar on all Chase Travel℠ purchases and 4 points per dollar on flights booked directly through the airline
- Citi Strata Premier® Card (see rates and fees): 3 points per dollar spent on air travel
Bottom line
There are many airlines offering discounted flights to destinations across the Caribbean. There is availability from many U.S. hubs, and since there is availability until 2025, you're bound to find a flight that works for you.
Pro tip: If you visit Grand Cayman, make sure to plan a visit to Stingray City so you can swim with the rays. It's even more fun than you think it is.
