An often overlooked benefit of being an Amex cardholder is having access to American Express Global Dining Access by Resy. Booking dining experiences via your Amex card and Resy can save you some serious cash at some of the finest dining establishments in the world.

Here's what you need to know to make your next meal a standout.

What is Global Dining Access by Resy?

The Global Dining Access by Resy is a portfolio of restaurants worldwide that partner with Amex to offer top-tier cardmembers premium dining experiences at some of the top spots in town. You can get prime restaurant reservations, even those at venues that show as fully booked. Many of the restaurants have earned Michelin stars or are continually listed as the best in their respective cities.

Which cards are eligible for Global Dining Access by Resy?

How do you access this perk? Well, first, since this is an exclusive perk for certain cardholders, you'll need to have one of the following cards:

Even if you don't currently have one of those cards, you can still browse the list of restaurants and take note of places you may want to visit in the future.

Additionally, you can get a recurring Resy dining statement credit for U.S and other eligible Resy purchases if you own the Amex Platinum (up to $100 quarterly), the Amex Gold (up to $50 biannually) or one of the Delta cards listed above (up to $20 each month). Enrollment required.

How does Global Dining Access by Resy work?

The easiest place for Card Members to access Global Dining Access and make a reservation is through the Resy app and on Resy.com. Once an eligible Amex card is linked to your Resy account, you'll see your Global Dining Access benefits in Resy. (Cardmembers can also call the Amex concierge to get this set up.)

Keep in mind that you'll be subject to each restaurant's cancellation policy, which varies according to the establishment.

As we mentioned earlier, this collection includes some of the world's top restaurants—there are more than 100 restaurants in New York City alone! So you'll definitely want to check out the full list on Resy's site, as well.

Bottom line

Whatever restaurant you choose, remember to use a card that earns you bonus points on dining. Even though you'll need to have one of the aforementioned cards to have Global Dining Access, you're not required to pay for your meal with that card. In fact, you probably shouldn't, as there are other cards out there that earn more on dining purchases.
