About a year ago, Marriott and Uber launched a partnership that allows U.S. Marriott Bonvoy members to earn points on U.S. Uber transactions, including rides and Uber Eats orders.

Bonvoy members can earn:

  • 6 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar on Uber Eats deliveries to hotels operating under Marriott brands in the United States with a minimum $25 basket.
  • 3 points per dollar on Uber XL, Comfort and Black rides across the United States.
  • 2 points per dollar on non-hotel Uber Eats deliveries and food pick-ups in the United States with a minimum $25 basket.

If you haven't already linked your accounts, though, you should definitely do so now since Marriott and Uber are offering new registrants the chance to earn 1,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points after their first Uber transaction between now and Mar. 17, 2022.

We value 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points at $8, which is nothing monumental, but it is still a nice bonus on something like your Uber Eats afternoon lunch or an airport Uber ride.

In order to link your accounts, open the Uber app then go to Settings and scroll down. Tap on the Marriott Bonvoy and then sign into your Marriott Bonvoy account with your email or membership number and wait for confirmation that your accounts have been linked.

If you also have an Uber Eats account, it should automatically be linked at the same time.

Bottom line

For those who have yet to link their Marriott and Uber accounts, the opportunity to earn 1,000 bonus points after your next Uber transaction is just icing on the cake for an already attractive double-dip opportunity.

Remember to use one of the best credit cards for Uber or the best credit cards for food delivery, you can maximize your earnings (or savings).

If you're interested in earning more Marriott points, specifically, you might also consider opening a Marriott credit card. Right now, for example, you can earn a $150 statement credit after making the first purchase in the first 12 months from account opening, and earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card. Certain hotels have resort fees.
