It’s been a busy year for credit card bonuses, and this week Delta Air Lines and American Express announced limited-time offers of up to 110,000 bonus miles on three consumer cobranded cards and three business cobranded cards. Here’s a look at the consumer card offers:
Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card: Earn 80,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. This is the highest offer we’ve seen on this card all year.
Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card: Earn 100,000 bonus miles after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first six months of card membership. This card includes Sky Club lounge access for the cardholder and up to two guests.
This impressive round of offers includes the highest-ever bonuses on the Gold and Reserve cards. TPG values the current offers anywhere from $960 to $1,320, based on TPG’s September 2024 valuations.
Between the elevated bonuses and the many perks of these cards, you can get a lot of value out of adding one to your wallet.
For starters, each of these cards gives you a 15% discount when booking award tickets (with a few exceptions) — just pay for the taxes and fees with your Delta credit card.
Another of my favorite perks of these cards is free checked bags for you plus up to eight companions. With checked bag fees now starting at $35 each, those costs can add up quickly.
Additionally, Delta has really clamped down on lounge access and the ability to earn elite status. But the Delta Reserve cards offer Delta Sky Club access when flying on Delta and a $2,500 Medallion Qualification Dollar boost toward Medallion status each year. (Beginning Feb. 1, 2025, lounge access will be limited to 15 visits annually.)
These card benefits were refreshed earlier this year, so check out the benefits to see if one of these cards might be a great addition to your points and miles strategy. But don’t wait too long — these offers are only valid through Oct. 23.
