Lock in a nearly 2-year Companion Pass

by Colin Hogan, Newsletter editor

Attention deal hunters (or anyone who likes free flights): Right now, there is a perfect storm of opportunity that could easily get you more free or cheap flights than you’ve ever imagined. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this:

The current welcome offer on the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card is one of the most valuable we’ve seen — not just because it comes with a massive pile of valuable points, but because, if you act now, you could score Southwest Airlines’ legendary Companion Pass at the optimal time to stretch it for all it’s worth!

Here’s the deal: New cardholders can earn 120,000 bonus points after spending $10,000 in the first three months from account opening. Those points alone are an incredible value, worth about $1,680, per our October 2025 valuations. And with domestic flights as low as 4,000 points each way, you could be booking dozens of award flights with just that bonus.

But here’s where it gets even better: With a bonus that big, you could also easily qualify for Southwest’s legendary Companion Pass, which lets a designated travel buddy fly with you for just taxes and fees.

The key is applying now, which would give you until early-to-mid-January to complete the spending requirement. By earning your welcome bonus in January, you can secure the Companion Pass for the rest of 2026, then all of 2027. We’ve unpacked the whole strategy here. (Don’t worry, it’s not complicated.)

We can’t understate how valuable nearly two whole years of BOGO flights can be — to say nothing of the big pile of points you’ll be sitting on!

Also remember that Southwest has been expanding beyond its low-cost roots, adding a slew of cool new routes, new international partnerships and even extra-legroom seats — making this offer more appealing than ever.

If you like free flights and traveling with a buddy, now is the time to seize this rare opportunity before it’s too late!
