We’ve got some disappointing news for those of you with Venture X cards this morning: Capital One’s generous lounge access policies for authorized users and guests will be tightened next year.
Additionally, primary cardholders and authorized users of either card will have to pay $45 for each guest they want to bring into Capital One Lounges and Landings (reduced to $25 for children under 17 and free for children under 2) unless they have spent $75,000 on their card in a calendar year.
Venture X Business cardholders (primary and authorized users) can get complimentary access for two guests at Priority Pass lounges, but if you hold the Venture X Rewards card, you’ll have to pay $35 per guest, per entry.
As you can see, there are a lot of nuances in these changes, so read this article to be sure you’re getting the key details.
While these new restrictions and fees may seem harsh, they align Capital One more with American Express and Chase, which already charge fees for adding authorized users on their premium cards.
