I love redeeming my Capital One miles by transferring them to the loyalty program’s more than 15 airline and hotel transfer partners, including Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Flying Blue and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. Especially for long-haul, premium-cabin flights, I can usually obtain a value that matches or exceeds TPG’s March 2025 valuation of 1.85 cents per Capital One mile.
However, sometimes the most convenient flight isn’t available through a transfer partner. When that happens, redeeming Capital One miles through the Capital One Travel portal is a great way to save money.
That’s yet another reason why the current limited-time welcome offer on the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is so valuable. You can earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 in the first three months from account opening. Plus, you’ll get a $250 Capital One Travel credit to use in the first year. That’s up to $1,000 in value when you book through Capital One Travel.
Here’s a good example of when this comes in handy: On a recent flight from the Caribbean back to the United States, JetBlue was my only nonstop option. At the time, JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty program was not a transfer partner of Capital One miles (though this has since changed).
Rather than paying cash for this flight through JetBlue’s website, I was able to book it through Capital One Travel for a similar price. I covered the cost completely by redeeming my Capital One miles for 1 cent apiece without worrying about award availability or transfer rates.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can dive into the world of transfer partners and find great value for these miles. But if you just want to keep it simple and still save $1,000 on your next vacation, use those bonus miles and travel credit to book your flights, hotels or car rentals through Capital One Travel.
