Before we get into today’s newsletter, I want to take a moment to remember the heroes, survivors and precious lives lost during the tragic terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
For the past few years, Paulie Veneto, a retired flight attendant, has pushed a beverage cart between landmarks of the tragedy to raise money and awareness for the flight crews, whom he considers the “first, first responders” of that day. Click here to learn more about Paulie’s Push and how you can support this worthwhile cause.
At any given time, there are TPG writers staying in hotels all over the world for the sole purpose of helping you choose the best place to stay on your next trip.
Not only do we test the beds, spas, dining outlets and sometimes even the Mickey-shaped waffles, but we also share which credit cards and loyalty programs you should use to maximize your stay.
If your travels take you a bit further, TPG Senior Hotels Reporter Tanner Saunders recently stayed in the new Six Senses Kyoto in Japan. Director of Content Summer Hull made a return visit to the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome to see if still deserves top billing as one of the world’s premier points hotels.
In a highly predictable turn of events if you know my love for theme parks, I recently stayed at a points hotel on Disney World property, the Walt Disney World Swan. This hotel gave me early access to the Disney parks, and an upgrade to a balcony room thanks to my Marriott Gold Elite status. I don’t know if I should thank Mickey or Bill Marriott.
