I was shocked when I saw the new welcome offer on the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card. In short, it’s a compelling offer even if you don’t frequently stay at IHG hotels.
The new offer — which is easily the best we’ve ever seen — gives new cardholders five free nights (each valid for up to 60,000 points) after they spend $4,000 in the first three months from account opening.
Similar to Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards uses dynamic award pricing. So I can’t guarantee you’ll be able to use these free nights at specific properties. But, even after the recent devaluation, you’ll still find nights costing less than 60,000 points in many popular destinations.
For example, you can often find nights bookable for 60,000 points or less at my favorite Amsterdam hotel, the Kimpton De Witt. And although rates tend to shift drastically by season, you can often book nights for 60,000 points or less at the family-friendly Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives (pictured above). If you prefer to stay closer to home, you’ll find some nights bookable for 60,000 points or less at the InterContinental Presidente Cancun Resort. Many Kimpton properties around the U.S. also cost 60,000 points or less on many dates.
