With the 75,000-point increased offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card ending in the next few days, you’ve likely seen plenty of coverage on all the reasons why you should snag the best offer we’ve seen on the card this year.
However, choosing the right card can be tricky, so here are some situations when you should not apply — even if the offer is excellent.
You’re not eligible because you either currently have any Sapphire-branded card or have received any Sapphire bonus in the last 48 months.
You can’t comfortably hit the minimum spending requirement of $4,000 in the first three months to earn the full bonus. If you don’t average at least $1,334 in monthly expenses that can be put on the card, then it’s not worth applying for this increased offer. (But here are some things you might not have thought to charge!)
You’re about to apply for a mortgage or have another major event where your credit will be scrutinized soon.
If any of these reasons apply to your situation, sit this one out — there will always be more increased card offers later on.
If none of those situations apply to you, then there’s no reason to miss out on one of our favorite offers of the year.
But hurry — Chase has informed us that this is the last chance to earn 75,000 bonus points with $4,000 in spending in the first three months on the Chase Sapphire Preferred before this offer ends June 13 at 3 p.m. EDT.
