If you fly, you can get from Spain to Florida in about 9 1/2 hours. But I recently spent 14 nights on a transatlantic cruise on the same route.
I hadn’t set foot on a cruise ship for 14 years ahead of this transatlantic crossing, but I had a wonderful time and am already considering another extended cruise across the Pacific Ocean or through the Panama Canal.
The ship felt like home after just a few days, and I was sad to leave at the end of the cruise. I work remotely, so I spent much of my free time on my laptop (luckily, the cruise ship offered useable Wi-Fi even in the middle of the Atlantic). But other cruisers didn’t seem bored even when we had five straight days at sea, as the pools, shows, activities, games and casino kept them entertained.
I appreciated the extra time to enjoy the ship’s offerings and the special Carnival Journeys activities, including a tour of the ship’s galley.
