Has Hawaii always been on your dream vacation list but maybe been a little intimidating from a cost perspective? Fear not! Points and miles can get you there without damaging your wallet — and using TPG’s guide to Hawaii on points and miles can make that getaway to the Aloha State happen a lot sooner than you’d think.
Utilizing Southwest Rapid Rewards points on Southwest Airlines or utilizing airline partner programs (like Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles for flights on United Airlines or British Airways Executive Club for flights on American Airlines or Alaska Airlines) can save you a hefty amount on award flights.
For example, you can fly to Hawaii for 20,000 miles and $11.20 round-trip using Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles — this same award flight, booked through United, would cost 25,000 United miles plus $5.60.
You can also take advantage of welcome bonus offers for new credit cards. The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offers 60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening an account.
You can then book through the Chase Travel℠ portal or transfer those points, often at a 1:1 ratio, to partner airline or hotel loyalty programs like Southwest Rapid Rewards, JetBlue TrueBlue, World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy and more. Paradise is much more within reach than you might think if you have the right points and miles strategy!
