One of my favorite tips I’ve learned at TPG is that you can earn additional bonus points on purchases simply by taking advantage of a merchant offer, such as through a shopping portal.
For example, all American Express credit cards, including cobranded airline cards, have access to Amex Offers, allowing cardholders to redeem up to 100 offers from various merchants simultaneously, including on travel.
These offers vary but generally require you to do one of four things:
Spend a certain amount of money to get a certain number of bonus points.
Spend a certain amount of money to get a certain amount back.
Get additional points per dollar at select merchants.
Get a certain percentage back by using the link provided.
You must usually purchase directly from the merchant to receive the offer after activating it in your Amex account.
Remember, you can use Amex Offers in addition to online shopping portals and annual statement credits to earn even more bonus miles or cash back on your everyday purchases.
