When you think of airport lounges, you probably think of standard benefits like complimentary food and drinks and a place to work away from the airport hustle and bustle. While some are fairly modest, others have impressive showers and rest areas.
But some really take the cake and offer unique experiences and amenities that you might not expect from a lounge:
Get a facial: At the recently opened Sapphire Lounge at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), you can get a complimentary facial during your layover. You’ll want to make an appointment online or as soon as you get to the lounge. Then, when it’s your turn, go back to the spa area, choose your service from the available treatments, and lay back and relax while you receive your facial.
Get a workout: Some lounges have workout rooms where you can break a sweat during your layover. For instance, the Capital One Lounge at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport (DFW) has a room with two Pelotons. Again, you’ll need to reserve the space when you check in to the lounge.
Take a swim:If you have Priority Pass lounge access and find yourself in Terminal B of Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic, don’t skip the VIP Lounge. It has an outdoor pool that lets you get in one last sunny dip before getting on your plane to go home from vacation.
Practice your golf swing: For business- and first-class passengers flying Turkish Airlines or its Star Alliance partners, the airline operates the Business Lounge at Istanbul Airport (IST), where you’ll find a golf simulator, among other perks. Spend some time working on your golf game while waiting for your flight.
