It’s the time of year when many airline elite status levels reset. If you didn’t requalify for the status you had last year, you might want to get in a quick “status match” to another loyalty program to take it for a spin before your current status is gone.
Typically, a status match (or status challenge) grants you temporary equivalent or lower elite status with a new airline based on your existing status with a competitor’s program. For example, Delta Air Lines is currently offering a status match that would let you leverage your current elite status with another airline for an equivalent status with Delta for three months, with the possibility of extending your status through 2026.
