Whether you’ve had The Platinum Card® from American Express in your wallet for a decade or you’ve been meaning to get one, it’s a very important time of year for many of its built-in credits because many are based on a calendar year.
If you do get a new American Express Platinum now, that means many of these credits are available for you to use in December and immediately again in January if you act quickly, making for a quick double dip on over $900 in value from just these four credits in late 2023 and early 2024.
Be sure and use this $485 in statement credits by Dec. 31:
Up to $200 in annual hotel credit on prepaid Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection stays: It’s possible to use it on a 2024 booking as long as at least $200 is prepaid now*.
Monthly $15 Uber credit increases to $35 for December — and remember, you can use it on Uber Eats, too.*
The Amex Platinum is currently offering 80,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after $8,000 in spending in the first six months of card membership. But some are targeted for welcome offers as high as 150,000 bonus points, so check CardMatch first to see if you’re one of those lucky folks, and then follow this checklist of things to do when you get the card so you don’t leave any 2023 credits on the table.
