This past week saw one of the most exciting days in recent aviation history, and I’m delighted to be able to share this story with you.
A world’s first
On Nov. 28, I was honoured to have been invited by Virgin Atlantic on board its Boeing 787 Dreamliner known as “Lucy in the Sky” on a very special flight. It was the first transatlantic flight powered 100% by sustainable aviation fuel. With blanket media coverage across the world, this was clearly something very exciting, and you can read more about how a plane flies using old chip fat here.

From our little island and other spots around Europe, airlines like Virgin Atlantic, Jet2 and British Airways are expanding their route networks, providing links to a wide variety of destinations.
New-plane smell
We love a new plane, especially when the product on board and the resulting passenger experience get an upgrade. Some of the TPG team were live in person on United Airlines’ snazzy Airbus A321neo with its brand-new, first-class recliner seats.
