To all who are celebrating today, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is on TV, your belly is full of turkey and your heart is full of love.
Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, this day is still the official kickoff of the holiday season — a time of year when we reflect on what we are grateful for. As a travel writer and frequent traveler, many of the things I am thankful for pertain to travel in one way or another.
Some may seem insignificant, like how thankful I am for my travel pillow on long flights. But seriously, is there anything worse than repeatedly being jolted awake when your head suddenly slumps forward over and over again?
Others are a bit more heartfelt, like the cherished memories I am grateful my family has gotten to make together this year. You don’t have to know me very well to know that I love theme parks, and I had the best times exploring Dollywood, Legoland California and Universal Studios Hollywood with them this year.
