The budget giant continues to fly, of course. But that was one of the many headlines following Southwest Airlines’ stunning reversal on its longstanding “bags fly free” policy.
Reactions to the airline’s recent changes have been pouring in — everything from an “obituary” to questions about whether onetime maverick Southwest is now “just another airline.”
While that was the clearly the story of the week — and maybe the year — there’s been a lot of other airline news since we last chatted.
The nation’s two newest budget airlines went on an expansion spree this week, between them unveiling a combined four new cities and 15 new routes. Frontier Airlines made an intriguing move by adding service to Seattle’s secondary airport.
