The rivals have battled for years over Boston, where each has ambitions of being the city’s No. 1 airline. The carriers are also fierce competitors in New York, where both operate large hubs at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Fiji Airways announced a start date for its new flight to Texas — the longest in its network and one that connects it to a major hub of the Oneworld alliance. Meanwhile, staying in Texas, fans of one of Singapore Airlines’ quirkiest fifth-freedom flights are sure to be disappointed with the carrier’s decision to end the route.
