Las Vegas casino resort operators are probably happy to see summer end after the desert paradise saw a concerning reduction in visitors. According to Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority data, the number of people visiting Las Vegas in June declined more than 11% from the same period in 2024. Preliminary STR data gathered by Travel Weekly shows that hotel occupancy rates plunged nearly 15% during the same period.

According to Steve Hill, CEO of the LVCVA, one of the principal factors in this decline in tourism to Las Vegas is the uncertainty surrounding economic conditions in the U.S. and overseas.

"Visiting Las Vegas is a very discretionary decision to make," Hill tells TPG. "The core concern on the part of our customers, and frankly, just anybody who is budget conscious right now in the United States is their sentiment around their job status, their economic status, and that confidence dropping has caused people to ... either lessen the number of times they come or not come at all."

To shake this summer slump, several Vegas properties are offering deals and discounts that travelers can still take advantage of right now.

Hotels waiving resort fees

RESORTS WORLD LAS VEGAS

Some hotels are looking to entice customers by waiving one of the most unpopular costs associated with a Vegas vacation: resort fees.

Resorts World Las Vegas

Resorts World Las Vegas is running a promotion through Sept. 10, waiving resort fees for guests at any of its three properties — Hilton, Conrad and Crockfords. The deal includes up to 40% off room rates and as much as $75 resort credit that can be used for food, drinks and pool cabanas. Also, Resorts World guests get complimentary self-parking when they book directly with the resort.

"Our loyal guests recognized that we listened to their feedback, while these initiatives also attracted a significant number of first-time visitors to [our property]," Carlos Castro, President of Resorts World Las Vegas, said to TPG, adding that the promotion exceeded expectations.

There are still a few weeks to take advantage of this deal for a last-minute getaway. And don't forget it's a Hilton property, so you can earn Hilton Honors points during your stay.

Sahara Las Vegas

Sahara Las Vegas is also getting in on the act. Its All-In promotion (select dates through Jan. 4, 2026) lets you book a room from $59 a night, and resort fees are waived. That right there saves you $54.95 per night. The deal also includes the following perks:

Circa Resort and Casino

Circa Resort and Casino on Fremont Street in downtown Vegas has its own 'All-In' deal, running through Sept. 4. A two-night stay costs $400, including all resort fees and taxes.

The package includes:

  • $100 dining credit at any Circa restaurant, including the popular Barry's Downtown Prime steakhouse
  • $100 drinks credit at on-site bars

Maybe the best perk in the promotion is a free daybed reservation (with no minimum spend required) at Circa's Stadium Swim, one of the coolest pool experiences in Vegas. Guests can watch football on the massive 143-foot screen or relax at the swim-up bar.

Plaza Hotel & Casino

For those looking to do Vegas for even less, the Plaza Hotel & Casino downtown is offering what it calls the only all-inclusive experience in Sin City. Through Sept. 30, you can book a room starting at $125 per person, per night, which includes two free meals (breakfast and dinner), bottomless drinks at two of the bars located in the casino and no resort fees. You also get discounts at the Plaza's more upscale dining and drinking spots. There are other restrictions, so be sure to read the terms and conditions on their website before booking.

Las Vegas flight deals

As for getting to Vegas, I've started to see some nice discounts on flights out of California. Spirit Airlines has flights out of Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) throughout September for less than $60 round-trip. Here's one that's only $51 round-trip. That's a great price, with the added bonus that you're flying out of Burbank, one of the most convenient airports on the West Coast.

Frontier Airlines also has LA-to-Vegas flights available at cut-rate prices, this time out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Here's one itinerary in late September for only $63 round-trip.

In early October, you can also fly Frontier out of San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Las Vegas for just $101.

There are also flights from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Vegas in the fall for under $100 round-trip.

Bottom line

As Las Vegas rides out a summer slump, there are plenty of last-minute deals to take advantage of in the coming weeks. However, fall sees the return of the NFL and the NHL, as well as the Formula One Las Vegas race in November, which attracts F1 fans from around the world.

According to ticket-selling giant StubHub, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Vegas Knights are two of the most popular teams for visiting fans. They sell more tickets to out-of-state fans than any other teams in their respective sports.

"I think [the return of the NFL] should be certainly helpful in helping us regain some of that lost visitation," Hill from the LVCVA says, adding that conventions and large business conferences should also help boost visitor traffic.

But that doesn't mean it will be impossible to find Las Vegas deals this fall and beyond.

"Las Vegas is pretty well known for what people tend to call reinventing itself, and a lot of what drives that is the competitive aspect of all the properties here in town," Hill says. "You're starting to see that, and I do expect others will do so [as well], just maybe not exactly the same type of offer."
