Upgrade Your Gogo Plan to Connect Two Devices at a Time
If you've purchased Wi-Fi on a plane, you're probably frustratingly aware that most services only allow one device to be connected at a time. If you're working on your laptop and need to pull something up on your phone, you have to go through the process of logging out on one device before you can log in on the other, eating up precious in-flight work time.
Gogo's now offering subscribers an option to remove this frustration — at a price. Gogo will let you upgrade your $49.95 Monthly Airline Plan subscription to a two-device monthly plan for $10 more per month. Unfortunately, you're going to have to choose between the American Airlines, Delta or Virgin America two-device plans. At this point, it doesn't seem like you can upgrade your Monthly Multi-Airline Plan to a two-device plan.
If you're interested, Gogo is making it remarkably easy to upgrade to a two-device plan. To upgrade, visit this website. Enter your Gogo user email address, check the box to agree to the terms and click Upgrade. You'll be upgraded to the $59.95 plan in "a few days."
If this two-device option persuades you to sign up for a new Gogo monthly subscription, check out the Gogo plan options here. Choose your airline from the drop-down box under "2-Device Plan" and click Subscribe to start the checkout process.
For those upgrading: If you have a flight upcoming in the next few days, note that Gogo mentions it might take "a few days for the upgrade to be added to your account." So, you might want to register for the upgrade as soon as possible.
Bottom Line
Gogo's current speed and service issues make current monthly subscription costs hard to swallow. However, for many frequent travelers, this in-flight Wi-Fi is a necessary evil for staying connected on domestic trips. If you're one of these travelers, a $59.95 two-device plan may be helpful for keeping both your laptop and phone connected while in the skies.
