To celebrate the holiday season and the current limited-time offer of up to 60,000 points on the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card, The Points Guy and Chase are partnering up to give away a cumulative 8,640,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points over the next 12 days.

Between Dec. 12 and Dec. 23, 12 lucky TPG readers will be selected at random each day to win 60,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points. Based on TPG's valuations, those points are worth $900. What's even more exciting is that these points will count toward Companion Pass eligibility, and we think this is one of the most valuable airline perks out there. Note: The 60k points will not be processed into the winners' accounts until January 2019.

If you'd like to be one of the winners, engage with us each day via the following platforms:

What Can You Do With 60,000 Points?

In case you need some inspiration for how to best spend 60,000 Southwest points, here are some ideas! Southwest utilizes a dynamic points redemption system which fluctuates based on the current revenue price of the ticket. So during peak seasons, award tickets will require more points; during low season, I've seen rates drop as low as 1,350 points one-way between Austin, my hometown, and New Orleans.

Caribbean Beach Vibes: You and your +1 can book round-trip tickets to Aruba from Houston in February for around 25,000 Rapid Rewards points apiece — and if you have the Companion Pass, both of you could fly for just 25,000 points total.

Go Long: From time to time when the price is right, Southwest offers arguably the best possible value for transcontinental award flights. You can fly from Los Angeles to Newark for just 8,400 points one-way in January.

Cut the Commute: Travel often between SoCal and the Bay Area? With award flights starting at just over 2,500 points one-way, 60,000 Rapid Rewards points can take you from Los Angeles to San Francisco nearly 24 times.

Hawaii: We've been talking about it for nearly two years at this point, but Southwest's long-rumored Hawaii routes will launch sometime in early 2019. Nobody knows the redemption rate or destination airports as of yet — but as soon as we do, you and your 60,000 points will be ready to go.

Need more ideas? Check out our tips on maximizing Rapid Rewards redemptions here, and don't worry — if you're not a winner you can still earn 60,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points with the Southwest Priority or Southwest Premier cards, which are both offering sign up bonuses of 40,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, plus an additional 20,000 points after you spend $12,000 within your first year.
