Samsonite is a reliable mainstay in the luggage market, and we’re big fans of the brand here at TPG. Right now you can get some great deals on its luggage courtesy of the Amazon Big Spring Sale — including the well-reviewed Samsonite Winfield 3 DLX set.
Samsonite cases fall in the midtier range of luggage: They’re better than budget offerings but cheaper than some premium options. That isn’t to say that Samsonite doesn’t pack some serious pedigree when it comes to luggage, though. After all, it has been pumping out quality luggage since 1910.
If you’re looking to splash out on a luggage set ahead of your next travels, you can get a three-piece Samsonite Winfield 3 DLX set, which is currently going for 41% less than its usual asking price. Considering its 4.3-star rating on Amazon, this is an absolute bargain.
To buy: Three-piece Samsonite Winfield 3 DLX set, $399.99 (normally $679.99)
For $399.99, you’ll get three cases: a 20-inch carry-on, a medium 25-inch checked bag and a large 28-inch checked bag.
The bags come with a 10-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and they feature four multidirectional spinner wheels to help you glide through the airport.
This particular collection revamps one of the brand’s bestsellers, upgrading previous versions by adding a four-pocket, two-sided divider panel to maximize storage space. The body is made from polycarbonate, making it solid, durable and light. The cases also feature Transportation Security Administration-approved locks.
What’s the best credit card to use for your Amazon purchases?
If you’re shopping on Amazon, we recommend using one of the cards from TPG’s list of the best credit cards for Amazon purchases.
The Prime Visa (see rates and fees) is great for Big Spring Sale purchases and Amazon purchases year-round. Upon approval, new Prime Visa cardholders can receive a $150 Amazon gift card instantly upon approval, exclusively for Prime members.
Cardmembers also earn 5% back year-round on Amazon purchases (including Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods purchases); 2% back at restaurants and gas stations and on local transit and commuting purchases (including ride-hailing services); and 1% back on all other purchases. Additionally, you’ll earn 10% or more cash back on a rotating selection of items and categories on Amazon. There is no annual fee, but you must be a Prime member to hold this card.
The information for the Prime Visa has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Bottom line
We’ve seen some great luggage discounts during Amazon's Big Spring Sale, and this offer from Samsonite shaves 41% off of the usual asking price.
