Finally, Scotland saw some sun. The sun, of course, being Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who capture attention — and hordes of screaming fans — wherever they go.

The couple visited Edinburgh for the first time together on February 13, stopping at Edinburgh Castle for a visit, where they even got to hang out with an adorable Shetland pony named Cruachan, who attempted to nibble Harry's outstretched hand. And I ask: Can these two get any luckier?

Even though Cruachan isn't there to greet mere plebes, Edinburgh Castle is open to the public (tickets cost £17), and visitors can check out the 13th Century Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of kings, the oldest Crown Jewels in the British Isles, a crown and scepter dating back to 1494.

At Edinburgh Castle, there's also a daily display of the One o'clock Gun, a tradition with deep roots reaching back to 1861.

Oh, right. Back to Harry and Meghan. They're making the rounds on official visits before May 19 (their wedding date — what, you don't have it circled on your calendar?).

They also stopped by a cafe run by Social Bite, a social organization that aids and employs Scotland's homeless population, and traveled to the Palace of Holyroodhouse to celebrate Scotland's Year of the Young People, an initiative to highlight the achievements of, well, the young people. One of the band members told Harry they could fill in at the wedding if Ed Sheeran wasn't available.

Meghan wore an appropriate tartan Burberry coat and a purse by Scottish designer Strathberry. She's no fool. (And yes, the purse is already sold out.)

As for Valentine's Day? Well, in the afternoon Prince Harry hung out with his father, Prince Charles, who gave a speech in London about coral reef health. Nothing's more romantic than reefs!

Meghan was nowhere to be found. We assume — like most couples who've been dating more than a year — later that night they ordered in to Nottingham Cottage and vegged out in front of the TV. One can dream.
