British Airways loyalists beware: you won't be able to access your British Airways Avios account between Nov. 13 and 17, 2021.

Late last month, the airline sent out an email to Executive Club members regarding the upcoming outage. The airline has said it's performing "planned improvements" to Executive Club between the afternoon of Nov. 13 and the morning of Nov. 17. These times are in GMT, so the outage will run from the early morning of Nov. 13 and the afternoon of Nov. 17 for U.S.-based members.

During the outage, you'll be unable to log in to your Executive Club account or spend your Avios. The airline has said, however, that you can continue to earn Avios during this outage. The airline's Twitter account states that Avios earned during this time will be credited to accounts when improvements are completed.

This means that now's the time to book any last-minute Avios award tickets you may need to book during this planned outage. We also recommend preemptively booking anything you may need to book for the days immediately following this outage. Technology isn't perfect and the outage could be extended if things go haywire.

British Airways also tweeted that membership numbers will not show in the British Airways app during this time. You should take a screenshot of your membership card if you will be traveling during this time and need to access elite status benefits on partner airlines or add your Executive Club number to a new booking.

It's great that British Airways is giving members plenty of advance notice for this planned outage. Regardless, you should be prepared by booking any immediately needed award flights now. Of course, we'll keep you posted if the outage goes longer than expected.
