Exciting New Airline Routes for November 2018 and Beyond
Airlines around the world launch and announce dozens of new flight routes and service changes every month. Today, we’ll share just a few of the latest flights that will take to the skies this month or in the near future. Keep in mind that exact flight details (like schedules and aircraft, among other things) may change.
NEW ROUTES LAUNCHED IN NOVEMBER 2018
Singapore Airlines' New Route from LAX (launched November 2)
Details — It's been a busy month for Singapore Airlines, which not only launched nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Singapore (SIN) nearly a month after its Newark (EWR) to SIN route became the new longest flight in the world, but also announced plans for a new nonstop flight from Seattle (SEA) to SIN for September 3, 2019. The LAX-SIN route launched November 2, with service three times per week but changed to a daily schedule on November 9. A second flight, also serviced by the carrier's A350-900ULR, will fly three times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting December 7.

Southwest Offers More Flights in US, to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean (launched November 4 and 10)
Details — Southwest was at it again this month, launching daily seasonal flights from the US to Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Cancun (CUN), Cabo San Lucas / Los Cabos, Mexico (CSL), Turks and Caicos (PLS), Grand Cayman (GCM), Belize (BZE) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR), as well as a slew of new domestic itineraries. On November 5, the carrier also added more flights to some of its existing routes, while Saturday seasonal service from Nashville (BNA), Indianapolis (IND) and Columbus, Ohio (CMH) to Cancun (CUN) began November 10.

Spirit Airlines Adds More International and Domestic Routes (launched November 8, 9 and 10)
Details — Spirit Airlines really seems to be hitting the ground running in Florida, adding a number of new domestic and international routes this month from Orlando (MCO) — where the carrier also launched several new flights last month — Tampa (TPA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Fort Myers (RSW) and West Palm Beach (PBI).

Delta Debuts New Service to San Jose From Detroit (launched November 15)
Details — As of November 15, it's now easier for those in the Midwest to visit the West Coast thanks to Delta's new flight from Detroit (DTW) to San Jose (SJC). The schedule itself varies greatly in December, with four to six flights depending on the week, but eventually settles down to five flights per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting January 7, 2019. All service will be aboard the carrier's 737-900 aircraft.

NEW ROUTES ANNOUNCED IN NOVEMBER 2018
Level to Launch Barcelona Service from New York City
Details — If you've been looking for an excuse to plan a trip to Barcelona, this is it. Low-cost carrier Level will be adding a new flight from New York-JFK to Barcelona (BCN) on July 27, 2019, just in time for a late-summer trip to the seaside city. The JFK-BCN route will operate three times per week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday aboard the carrier's A330-200 aircraft. Level is also planning to add a third flight to its current San Francisco (SFO) to BCN route, which will run three times per week on Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday as of July 28, 2019.

More Domestic and International Flights Coming Soon to United
Details — 2019 will certainly be a big year for United, which recently announced plans to add 31 flights to 12 Caribbean islands, 28 flights to seven cities in Mexico, three flights to Guatemala, three flights to Belize and 27 flights to seven Central American destinations including 16 flights to Costa Rica. A number of new flights from Fairbanks, Alaska (FAI), are also expected to launch next summer, as are several seasonal routes from United's Denver hub that will accommodate what is sure to be a busy Spring Break season. The carrier is also applying for a second daily nonstop route between Newark (EWR) and Shanghai (PVG) that, if approved, would begin operations in June 2020.

Alitalia to Fly from Washington, DC, to Rome Starting This Spring
Details — Call it the little carrier that could: While earlier this month, Delta was one of several companies to make an offer to buy the bankrupt airline, that didn't stop Alitalia from announcing plans to launch a new route from Washington, DC (IAD), to Rome (FCO) next spring. If all goes according to plan, the route will run five times per week on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and be operated by its A330-200 aircraft.

Delta's Adding a New Transcon and Seasonal Service to Key West
Details — Delta's new transcon service from Atlanta (ATL) to Burbank (BUR) is expected to launch July 8, 2019, and will give folks on either coast another easy option for making the cross-country trip. ATL-BUR service will be offered twice a day aboard the carrier's Boeing 737-700 aircraft. In other news, the airline is also planning seasonal Saturday service between New York City (LGA) and Key West, Florida (EYW) aboard its Embraer E-170 aircraft starting March 9, 2019.

Southwest Will Offer Flights from Nashville, California and Texas
Details — Not to be outdone by the other major US carriers, Southwest announced the its plans to add several new flights from Nashville (BNA) to Burbank (BUR) and San Jose (SJC), as well as new routes between San Diego (SAN) and Omaha (OMA), Austin (AUS) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Ontario, California (ONT) and San Francisco (SFO) next June. Pending official government approval, the carrier also intends to launch service from Baltimore (BWI) to Grand Cayman (GCM) and from Houston (HOU) to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ) starting June 15, 2019. Additional weekday service will be tacked on to existing routes starting June 10, 2019.

More Domestic Flights Coming Soon to American Airlines
Details — Earlier this month, American Airlines announced heaps of new domestic flights from its hubs in Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX) and Philadelphia (PHL), as well as weekend seasonal service from Washington, DC (DCA) to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina (HHH), which will run from May 4 to September 1, 2019. The new routes will be serviced by a mix of ERJ-145s and E-175s courtesy of Piedmont Airlines and Envoy Air, CRJ-700s from Skywest, and Embraer E-175s from Compass Airlines and Republic Airlines, all affiliates of American Airlines.

JetBlue to Offer New Nonstop Service to Nantucket
Details — If New England is your favorite summertime getaway, you're in luck. Beginning next June, JetBlue will offer two new routes to Nantucket (ACK) from New York City (LGA) and Westchester County (HPN) aboard its Embraer 190. The LGA-ACK flight will operate two times per week on Saturday and Sunday, while the HPN-ACK route will run five times per week on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Spirit Airlines Continues to Expand Its Flight Network
Details — Starting in February 2019, Spirit Airlines will be adding a number of new daily flights from Austin (AUS), New Orleans (MSY), Baltimore (BWI), Tampa (TPA) and Orlando (MCO) to several cities around the US as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and Kingston (KIN) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ). We're most excited about the new domestic routes connecting Austin with nine cities throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
