Marriott’s luxurious Lake Como Edition is now accepting reservations — and it's a great deal with points
Marriott Bonvoy's newest property — previously the Britannia Excelsior Hotel — has been fully renovated and rebranded as the Lake Como Edition. After making our list of 2025's most exciting hotel openings, the luxury hotel developed by Omnam Group was originally slated to open this past spring. It is now scheduled to open its doors in the fall, and it's taking reservations now for stays starting Sept. 9.
Best of all, you can save money and get great value for your Marriott Bonvoy points by booking an award stay at this gorgeous property.

The Lake Como Edition is on the western shore of Italy's Lake Como in the small community of Cadenabbia, about two hours outside of Milan by train or one hour by car. Lake Como is known as a hot spot for celebrity vacations, and for good reason. Beyond water-based activities like swimming and boat tours, the surrounding streets and villas provide plentiful opportunities for dining, shopping and studying history and art.
Housed in a 19th-century palazzo, the Lake Como Edition aims to combine Italian heritage with the brand's contemporary design and social energy, injecting a dose of youthful style into the glamorous old-world charm of Lake Como.
The hotel's 145 rooms, inspired by Italian villas, include one- and two-bedroom suites as well as premium rooms with lake and mountain views. Amenities include a lively lobby bar, an Italian restaurant, poolside dining, a floating pool, lakefront access and free breakfast. Guests can also take part in activities such as private yacht tours and "immersive wellness rituals," according to the hotel's website.
How to book

Rates at the Lake Como Edition start at 1,029 euros (about $1,210) per night in September, or you can book an award stay for as low as 115,000 points per night. That comes out to a value of around 1 cent per point — well above our July 2025 valuation of 0.7 cents per Marriott point.
Toward the end of the season, in late October, rates dip to 699 euros (about $822) or 95,500 points per night for a solid value of 0.86 cents per point. The hotel closes for the winter in early November and reopens in mid-March.
Bottom line
After a short delay, we're excited to see Marriott's newest addition open its doors in this stunning destination. It doesn't hurt that award rates this fall are relatively low, providing great value for your Marriott points.
Plus, if you hold Marriott elite status, you can take advantage of some elite perks. Not all benefits, such as free breakfast, are honored at Edition properties — but that doesn't matter in this case, since the Lake Como Edition provides free breakfast for all guests.
