KLM to take over Delta's nonstop route from Portland, Oregon, to Amsterdam, Dutch carrier says
Oregon's Portland International Airport (PDX) is set for a SkyTeam swap on its nonstop connection to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).
Starting this fall, KLM will launch nonstop service from the Pacific Northwest to Amsterdam.
The Dutch carrier will take over the current route operated by Delta Air Lines beginning Oct. 27, KLM said in a statement Wednesday.
KLM will operate the route with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, flying three weekly round trips during the winter months. Then, starting next summer, the carrier will expand to five weekly round trips.
Route details
Here's how the itinerary shakes out for the winter months:
- PDX-AMS: Depart at 1:25 p.m. and arrive at 7:50 a.m. the next day, all times local
- AMS-PDX: Depart at 10:25 a.m. and arrive at 11:25 a.m., all times local
Initially, flights during those off-peak months will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
KLM's summer 2025 schedule calls for round trips on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The 787-9 offers 30 seats in business class, 21 premium economy recliners and 224 seats in the main cabin.
