You can visit the outdoor filming locations of some of Hollywood's most renowned horror films on Universal Studios Hollywood's backlot Studio Tour ride. But most of the time, you can't step foot inside the soundstages where these horror icons made their big screen debuts.

This year, however, Universal Studios Hollywood is opening the doors to one of its soundstages for those brave enough to step into a horror movie of their own.

For the first time, one of Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights houses will reside on Sound Stage 12, the famed filming location of classics like "Dracula" (1931), "Frankenstein" (1931) and "The Bride of Frankenstein" (1935). Speaking of the Bride of Frankenstein, she will be one of the stars of this all-new, female-led house called Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines.

When you step inside Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines, you'll be caught in the middle of an epic battle between two unlikely alliances of classic female Universal monsters.

Saskia Van Helsing, daughter of Abraham Van Helsing (who took down Count Dracula with a stake to the heart in the original book and film), and the Bride of Frankenstein have teamed up to battle Dracula's daughter, Countess Marya, who rose from the dead to exact revenge on the Van Helsing bloodline. Marya has partnered with She-Wolf (inspired by the 1946 film "She-Wolf of London") and Anck-Su-Namun (from the 1932 movie "The Mummy") to settle the score.

Who will emerge victorious and live to see their bloodline survive another day? You'll have to visit Halloween Horror Nights — and Sound Stage 12 — to find out.

Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines is one of eight haunted houses coming to Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights. Other additions include terrifying outdoor scare zones, live entertainment and a spooky-fied version of the backlot Studio Tour called Terror Tram.

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 5 and will take place select nights through Nov. 3. Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed event that occurs after the park closes to daytime guests, and there are various ticket types available.

You can choose from one-night tickets and multinight passes, along with add-ons like an option that allows you into the park anytime after 2 p.m. to enjoy attractions before the event starts and also gets you early access to the haunted houses beginning at 5:30 p.m. There are also an early access ticket that lets you into the park 1 1/2 hours before the event starts and several options offering Universal Express skip-the-line access.

You can also visit Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines and nine other haunted houses during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort. There is some crossover between the lineups at both parks, but each park also has some houses that are unique to the event.

If you love dark and scary monster movies, you won't want to miss your chance to grab your best ghoul friends and walk in the footsteps of some of horror's most iconic characters during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.
