Trade in your sweaters for bathing suits this winter. American, Delta, JetBlue, United and Alaska Airlines are offering round-trip flights from major U.S. cities to warm and tropical Costa Rica starting from about $230.

JetBlue, United, and most American airline fares are for main cabin seats, which includes carry-on and seat assignment. Other flights are for basic economy.

The deal below shows a nonstop trip booked on American Airlines from Miami (MIA) to San Jose (SJO) from $230 in April 2022.

The JetBlue trip below shows multiple options from JFK to SJO. One-way flights in January for Blue basic start as low as $82, for Blue Seats it's $107 or 4,600 points and for Blue Extra it's $132 or 6,400 points.

The cheapest option we found on Delta from LAX to SJO was on February 7 at $294 for basic economy roundtrip.

How to Book

Go to the official sites of the major airlines listed above or to Google Flights and click round-trip from a major departure city and airport to either SJO or LIR in Costa Rica. Filter dates to travel in the window of December 2021-September 2022 to look for the best prices. You should be on your way in no time.
