American Express and the US Travel Association (a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting US travel) have partnered to offer discounts and deals with various travel brands and loyalty programs during the next month, including hotel packages, points/miles purchase promos, rental car discounts and more. These deals are called the Daily Getaways.

Each day we'll hash out the details of that day's deal to see whether it's worth taking advantage of.

Today's deal goes live at 1 pm EDT, and you can sign up for alerts if you'd like to be notified when the deals go live.

All of these promotions have the added benefit that you can save an extra 10% for purchasing with an Amex card, like the The Platinum Card from American Express and Premier Rewards Gold, or even co-branded cards like Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express and the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express.

Omni Hotel deals

Monday June 2, 2014: Omni Hotels & Resorts

  • One night at an exclusive Omni Hotel for $265, 10 available
  • Two nights at an Omni Premier Resort for $375, 33 available
  • Two nights at select Omni Hotels for $270, 49 available
  • Two nights at Omni for $180, 36 available

Each offer has a short list of hotels where you can use the purchased certificate, so first decide whether you'll be visiting any of those destinations soon. If so, consider the price compared to other hotels in that specific city or area. Certificates are valid until December 30, 2014, and must include a Friday or Saturday check-in. The two night stays must be used on consecutive nights. Only one certificate may be used, though extra nights can be added to your reservation at the prevailing rate. Certificates cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts, and are not transferable. Finally, there are some blackout dates that vary by property, so check in advance that your certificate is valid on the dates you wish to travel.

There aren't many of these deals available, so be ready to buy immediately when the sale begins if you're interested.

The Omni Berkshire in New York

One night at an exclusive Omni Hotel for $265

This deal allows you to book at one of the following hotels:

This deal at $265 ($238.50 with Amex discount) is most valuable when used in a city where hotel rooms are expensive, like in New York at The Omni Berkshire. Decent hotel rooms in New York rarely drop below this price, and rates online for June start at $279, so this deal definitely has value.

Two nights at an Omni Premier Resort for $375

This deal allows you to book at one of the following resorts:

This deal at $375 or $337.5 with the Amex discount is a solid offer for two nights compared to the normal rates. Prices for two nights in June at the San Francisco Hotel start at $435 per night, versus the $187.5-$168.5 price per night offered by the Getaway deal. Prices at the Omni Hilton Head start at $373 per night, again making the Daily Getaway deal a much better bet. If you're sure you want to stay at one of these Omni resorts, the Daily Getaway can save you a good amount of money.

Two nights at an Omni Select Hotel $270

This deal allows you to book at one of the following hotels:

While this selection of hotels is less impressive than what's offered in the previous two deals, there is still good value to be found, particularly at the Royal Crescent in New Orleans, the Austin Hotel, and the William Penn Hotel in Philadelphia (which routinely costs over $225 per night).

The Omni Houston at Westside.

Two nights at Omni for $180

This deal allows you to book at one of the following hotels:

Some of the above hotels tend to be priced fairly low; for example the Houston Hotel at Westside has rooms starting at $99 per night ($198 for two nights). Others are more pricey, such as the Omni Charlottesville, which routinely goes for over $200 per night. As with the other deals, there's value to be found at some of these properties depending on your travel plans.

All in all, some of these deals offer significant savings, while others are barely discounted from the usual rates. If you have plans to travel to one of the cities listed above, it's worth checking to see if the deal offered for the nearby Omni property makes sense for you. Again, be sure to check the terms and conditions, including blackout dates and other stipulations particular to each hotel.
