The 5 Craziest Things Passengers Tried to Sneak by the TSA in February
As 2018 is in full swing, so is TSA's Instagram account with the weird and wonderful things that came through their scanners. From toys masked as explosives, to pizza and (more) knives, February proved to be fruitful for TSA confiscations.
1. The Pie Can Fly...Part II
Last year during Thanksgiving, TSA let us know that the pie can fly, but they were talking about the sweet kind of pie like pecan and pumpkin. But don't worry, pecan pie's savory cousin, pizza, can fly, too! Doesn't matter if it's just a slice or a whole pie, pizza is always permitted as a carry-on item.

2. Edward Scissorhands' Arm is Not TSA Compliant
No matter if it's Edward Scissorhands' amputated arm or Beelzebub's backscratcher, these blades are not allowed in your carry-on. The passenger who was carrying this item was stopped at security at Denver International Airport (DEN) — we missed the memo that Mr. Scissorhands ditched the California suburbs for the Rocky Mountains. All knives or blades of any sort — no matter the size — are only allowed in your checked baggage.

3. Jurassic'n for it
While this pink, plastic dinosaur might look harmless, it's actually strictly forbidden to pack anything that resembles an explosive in either your carry-on or checked baggage. It's clear that it's not dino-mite, but this toy still held up lines at security when it was found in a bag at Denver International Airport (DEN). While we all hope long security lines will go extinct, knowing the rules and regulations before going through security will help to expedite the process.

4. Let's Play It By Spear
You've heard it once, you've heard it a million times: no spearguns or harpoons allowed in the main cabin. Of course, you can use your spears and harpoons on the high seas, but the only way they're going to see the light of day on a commercial aircraft is in a checked bag. Unloaded.

5. Fly Like An Eagle
Time keeps on slippin', slippin'...when you forget to check with your airline before a flight to see if your large pet can make the trek with you. The Philadelphia Eagles mascot, Challenger, made a flight a couple years back, but TSA wanted to show the now Super Bowl Champion team some love. If you plan on flying with your eagle or other large pet, check with the airline beforehand and follow all proper regulations, including placing your pet in a large kennel or carrier. The airline will then arrange for a TSA agent to inspect the cage, and voila...you're free to fly like an eagle to the sea.
