Get Apple TV and Apple Music with your Chase Sapphire Reserve
Editor's Note
One of the sneakiest expenses these days is streaming subscriptions. If you're like me, you find a reason to need almost every one — and it really adds up.
One of my favorite credit card perks is credits toward streaming subscriptions. Currently, my Disney+ bundle is mostly covered by my Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express's up to $120 annual (up to $10 monthly) statement credit (valid at DisneyPlus.com, Hulu.com or Stream.ESPN.com U.S. websites; enrollment is required; subject to auto-renewal). My U.S. Bank Altitude® Go Visa Signature® Card also provides another streaming credit I can use.
The information for the U.S. Bank Altitude Go has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
When I saw that Apple TV and Apple Music are part of the Chase Sapphire Reserve®'s (see rates and fees) refresh, I was thrilled to knock off two more subscriptions from my monthly budget.
Here's what you need to know.
How to get Apple TV and Apple Music with your Sapphire Reserve
Instead of statement credits, Sapphire Reserve cardholders receive complimentary memberships to both Apple TV and Apple Music — meaning you don't have to subscribe and wait for a credit to post. These memberships are available through June 22, 2027.
To enjoy your complimentary Apple TV and Apple Music, activate each service separately through Chase's website or app, and link an Apple ID.
Navigate to the benefits section in the Chase app or website, choose which subscription you want to activate and then select "Activate Now".

After you select this, you'll be prompted with the message "You are now leaving Chase." This will direct you to Apple, where you can click "Connect Subscription".

Once you connect your subscription, you're all set. The process for activating the Apple TV subscription is the same.

If you have an active subscription with either service, the complimentary service will automatically suspend your paid service. If you cancel the complimentary subscription, your paid subscription will resume.
Additionally, if you're feeling generous, you could gift this subscription to a friend or family member. However, to use an alternate Apple ID other than yours, you must activate the subscriptions via desktop.

Is the Sapphire Reserve Apple TV and Apple Music benefit worth it?
Currently, an Apple TV subscription costs $12.99 per month, while an Apple Music subscription costs $10.99 per month. The annual value of both of these memberships is $287.76 plus taxes if applicable.
If you're already paying for both memberships (or are willing to cut other subscriptions in favor of these), the annual savings alone are enough to justify the card's increased annual fee ($795, up from $550).
Still, a credit card benefit only saves you money if it's something you were going to buy anyway. If you aren't currently subscribed to either membership, this is a nice perk to have — but it isn't necessarily putting money back in your pocket. However, this benefit is a nice way to try out these services and see if you like and can get value from them.
Additionally, this complimentary subscription only applies to an individual Apple Music plan. If you want a family subscription, you'll have to pay the full family price rather than just the difference from the individual plan.

Bottom line
The Sapphire Reserve includes a complimentary membership to Apple TV and Apple Music, which cardholders can now activate in their card benefits hub. These are worth more than $250 annually, which goes a long way toward offsetting the card's steep $795 annual fee.
