Check your account to earn 20 miles per dollar on your first Capital One Travel hotel booking
Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available.
Capital One cardholders should check their account for a generous offer for first-time hotel bookings through the Capital One Travel platform.
Targeted cardholders can earn 20 Capital One miles per dollar spent on their first hotel booking by April 1; they can earn up to a maximum of 50,000 miles (on up to $2,500 spent, excluding fees and taxes), limited to one booking per eligible cardholder.
TPG values Capital One miles at 1.85 cents each in our March 2025 valuations, meaning this offer would provide a value of 37 cents per dollar spent — a fantastic return.
The earning rate is based on net purchases that do not include travel credits.

How to use the Capital One Travel platform

Capital One Travel allows eligible cardholders to book hotels, car rentals and flights directly with Capital One; they earn Capital One miles for every purchase and have the ability to redeem miles toward these purchases.
Here's a list of some top Capital One cards that offer access to Capital One Travel:
- Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card*
- Capital One Spark Cash Plus*
- Capital One Spark Miles for Business
*The Capital One Spark Cash Plus and Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card offer cash back rather than points rewards on bookings through Capital One Travel and may be excluded from this targeted offer.
Several TPG staffers have been targeted for the offer; they each hold the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card. The card currently offers 75,000 miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. Plus, upon approval, you'll receive a $250 Capital One Travel credit to use during your first year.

Some cardholders have access to Capital One Travel's boutique hotel collections. The Premier Collection is available to Venture X cardholders, and it includes benefits like an on-property experience credit of up to $100, daily breakfast for two people and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The Lifestyle Collection is available to Venture X, Venture Rewards and Spark Miles cardholders and offers:
- A $50 experience credit to use toward rooftop drinks, signature hotel restaurants, room service or other activities
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Room upgrades, when available
- Early check-in and late checkout, when available
Is this a good deal?

This limited-time, 20-miles-per-dollar offer represents a substantial increase to the regular earning rates. The regular rates vary depending on which card you hold:
- The Venture X normally earns 10 miles per dollar spent.
- The Venture, VentureOne and Spark Miles normally earn 5 miles per dollar spent.
- The Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card, Quicksilver and Spark Cash Plus normally earn 5% cash back.
Remember that when you book accommodation through a third-party platform like Capital One Travel, you won't normally earn points in your favorite hotel loyalty program or elite nights toward hotel status. You also won't be able to use any existing status benefits.
Given how generous this offer from Capital One Travel is, you may be happy to forgo these benefits in exchange for earning so many valuable Capital One miles.

Bottom line
Capital One Travel is a great way to earn Capital One miles for booking thousands of hotels worldwide. If you have not booked a hotel through this platform before and hold an eligible card, check the "Offers" tab in your Capital One Travel account for this generous targeted offer to earn 20 miles for each dollar spent.
This is only available for new bookings until April 1 and can only be used once per eligible cardholder, so it would be advantageous to use it for a large hotel booking to maximize the bonus miles earned, up to 50,000 for a single booking.
You can access the portal at Capital One's website.
