Select American Express cardmembers: Your card's up to $189 statement credit for Clear Plus has just increased by $10.
A small number of Amex cards have just had their Clear Plus statement credit increased to up to $199, effective Thursday. This means you'll be able to continue to enjoy Clear Plus membership at no additional cost, even as a base membership has increased to $199.
Here's what to know and how this upped perk works.
Increased Clear Plus credit for select Amex cards
If you have The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, the American Express® Green Card, the American Express Corporate Platinum Card® or the Centurion Card from American Express, you'll now receive an increased $199 statement credit for Clear Plus membership (subject to auto-renewal).
The information for the Aspire, American Express Green Card, Corporate Platinum and Centurion cards has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Clear normally costs $199 annually and TSA PreCheck starts at $78 for a five-year membership, though you can get the two memberships for a discounted price of $199.95. To get that price, travelers who pre-enroll in TSA PreCheck must complete the process within 14 days.
Enrollment is required for your statement credit to activate, but fortunately, the process is quite simple. Read this guide to learn more.
TPG Tip: If you want to try Clear and sign up using TPG's special offer, you can save $50 on the first year's membership.
Bottom line
If you're looking to save on a Clear Plus membership and include TSA PreCheck for a discounted total of $199.95, you can now take advantage of the higher credits available on these six Amex cards.
