Business frequent flyer programs can be a great way to double dip and earn even more miles every time you fly that you can redeem for award tickets, upgrades, Admirals Club day passes and memberships and more. So I'm always curious when airlines launch promos through their business programs like American's Business ExtrAA's current Triple Points promo.

According to the details when you register your Business ExtrAA for this promo with the code FALL12NYCEUR your business will will earn triple bonus points on flights in first or business class between New York JFK or Newark and Europe excluding the United Kingdom (though you can also earn triple points on connecting flights via London Heathrow or Madrid to Europe as long as the UK isn't your final destination).

You must book travel by December 31 on an American Airlines or AA codeshare flight operated by British Airways or Iberia (though tickets must be issued on American Airlines 001 ticket stock in order to earn the promo points) and you must begin travel by March 31, 2013. Eligible fare classes include F, A and P in first class, and J, R, D and I in business class. This promo can be stacked with the cheap Thanksgiving Business class fares, which mostly book into I class.

AA Business class JFK to Paris over Thanksgiving for $1,757 total roundtrip, which would qualify for this Business ExtrAA promotion

With Business ExtrAA, you normally earn 2 points per $10 spent on eligible airfares on most routes (though many not originating in Miami or Dallas), and you can redeem those points for over 50 award redemption offers including travel (2,000-25,000 points), upgrades (650-3,100 points), Admirals Club day passes (300 points) and memberships (3,000 points), conference room rentals (900 points) and gold status (2,400 points).

So for instance, if you wanted to fly business class from New York JFK-Paris in December, roundtrip tickets are going for about $4,600 for an eligible I class ticket. If you bought it, you'd ordinarily earn 920 Business ExtrAA points, but with this promo, you'd be earning 2,760 points. That's enough to gift someone AAdvantage Gold status, and several flight redemption options including a domestic coach award ticket or a coach award ticket between North America and the Caribbean, as well as two international one-way upgrades from a full-fare ticket (1,200 points each).
