With recent offers including Delta and JetBlue, there have been a number of airline-specific Amex Offers lately. Today, there's another one: $150 back on a $1,000 or more purchase with Air Canada.

Two TPG staff members have this offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express. However, the offer might be available on other American Express credit cards, so it's worth perusing the "offers" page of your different American Express cards to see if you're eligible.

Consistent with previous Amex offers, this one has fairly liberal terms. Some of the key terms to note include:

  • You must spend $1,000 on one or more transactions.
  • The offer is only valid on Air Canada flights.
  • Your purchase might be made on aircanada.com/us/en, via the Air Canada US mobile app or by phone at 1-888-247-2262.
  • Excludes gift cards, e-gift cards, group bookings, hotels, car rentals and Air Canada Vacations packages.
  • Travel must originate in the U.S. and be charged in U.S. dollars.
  • You must use the offer by Aug. 28, 2022.

Keep in mind that if you book your Air Canada flight through third-party online travel agencies like Expedia or Orbitz, the discount will likely not trigger.

Bottom line

Despite the recent challenges that Air Canada flyers have faced, the airline flies one of the best North American business class products and it's one of the sweet spots in the United partner PQP chart. This means your next Air Canada flight could help you earn United elite status faster.

It's worth adding this offer to your card even if you don't have any immediate plans to book an Air Canada flight. By already having the offer linked to your card, you could still score a discount on your next flight booking.
