35,000 US Airways Miles for Barclays Mastercard
While a 35,000 mile bonus isn't that showstopping, considering there are current 100,000, 75,000, and 50,000 (Amex, Continental, Delta, British Airways) bonuses out there, US Airways miles are pretty valuable and this card has a lot of perks.
The deal:
No annual fee for the first year, $89 thereafter
35,000 miles with first purchase
10,000 bonus miles every year on account anniversary
up to 10,000 miles for balance transfers
10,000 Preferred Miles every year when you spend $25,000
One complimentary US Airways Club day pass annually
5,000 mile discount on awards
Zone 2 boarding
Two $99 companion tickets annually
Award fee waivers (for domestic tickets: $25 per ticket, for tickets to Mexico/Caribbean: $35 per ticket; for tickets to Hawaii/international destinations: $50 per ticket.)
As I wrote about yesterday, US Airways has 60,000 mile off-peak Envoy awards, which I take advantage of every year. With the 5,000 mile discount as a cardholder, you'd only need 20,000 miles after the initial 35,000 points to get an Envoy award.
Considering there is no fee the first year and you also receive lounge passes and priority boarding, I definitely think this card is a good deal. Plus, if you've already signed-up for Amex, Chase, and Citi cards recently, Barclay's issues this card, so you won't have to worry about your application being cancelled due to too many accounts with the issuer.
