2,500 Amex Points For Watching Bose Demonstration

The best things in life are free...especially when they're free points. Shoppers who head into a Bose store and sit through a demo of the brand's Videowave II television by August 31, 2012, will earn 2,500 free American Express Membership Rewards points. Not a bad haul for about 15 minutes of your time.

I called the store in Soho to verify the promotion and ask what was involved. When you come into a Bose store (find your closest "Showcase" location here), ask about the promotion and give them the following promo code: AMXTV. They'll register you and your card online for the promotion, then have you watch a demonstration of the Videowave II, answer any questions you may have, etc. You will then either be given a certificate in the store or be emailed a certificate with your promo bonus code on it, which you can then redeem at membershiprewards.com/BonusPointsCert, and the points should show up in your account.

Who knows, you might actually be interested in a new television set? If you end up purchasing the television while you're in the store, you'll earn an additional 25,000 Amex Membership Rewards points, bringing your potential earnings to 27,500.

I asked how much the televisions normally go for. The 46-inch retails for just about $5,500, while the 55-inch (you've got to have a lot of wall space) sells for $6,500. So you'd basically be buying Amex points for a bit more than 20 cents each. Not the best earning ratio, but if you're in the market for a new super-high-end TV, then you might as well earn bonus points on it.
