Rooms To Go credit card review: Interest-free financing and not much else
Rooms To Go Credit Card overview
The Rooms To Go Credit Card offers appealing interest-free financing options for both new and existing cardholders, but with few other perks and no rewards, most customers will be better off with other options. Card Rating*: ⭐⭐
*Card Rating is based on the opinion of TPG's editors and is not influenced by the card issuer.
As a general rule of thumb, store credit cards aren't great options for most readers. They tend to offer very limited perks, and, in many cases, you can only use them at the retailers with which they are associated. While this is true of the Rooms To Go Credit Card, you still may be able to justify adding it to your wallet thanks to attractive financing on large purchases.
My wife and I decided this made sense when we completely outfitted our daughter's room with new furniture after she outgrew her convertible crib in early 2020. Rather than pull a large amount of money out of savings, my wife applied for the card to utilize a promotional offer for five years of interest-free financing (with equal monthly payments). This easily fit into our monthly budget.
The Rooms To Go card requires at least fair credit, so you may be able to get approved with a credit score as low as 600.
Here's everything you need to know about the Rooms To Go Credit Card.

Rooms To Go Credit Card benefits
The Rooms To Go card has no annual fee, and beyond that, the most important benefit for potential cardholders involves financing for large purchases.
Right now, new cardholders won't be charged interest on purchases of $975 and up until January 2028. However, you must make a down payment equal to sales tax and delivery on your purchase and make equal monthly payments to be eligible for the delayed interest.

It is worth noting that Rooms To Go only has showrooms in 10 states across the South: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. However, you may still be eligible for delivery if you live in other states. I used Rooms To Go's delivery tool and found that the following locales were in the retailer's delivery area:
- Baltimore
- Boston
- Little Rock, Arkansas
- Louisville, Kentucky
- New York City
- Oklahoma City
- Philadelphia
Earning and redeeming rewards on the Rooms To Go Credit Card
Unfortunately, the Rooms To Go card doesn't offer any rewards. As a result, the purchases you make on the card won't earn anything, so you'll need to decide if the interest-free financing offers are worth sacrificing those rewards.

Additionally, the Rooms To Go card isn't actually a credit card with a traditional network like Visa or Mastercard. Instead, it basically works as a store account and thus can only be used on Rooms To Go purchases. This really limits its utility.

Which cards compete with the Rooms To Go Credit Card?
Given the financing focus of the Rooms To Go card and the fact that you don't earn any rewards, the primary alternatives will be credit cards with an introductory 0% annual percentage rate or solid fixed-rate earning potential:
- If you want interest-free financing: Go with a card that offers low introductory APR on purchases like the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card. You'll enjoy 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months (18.74% to 28.74% variable APR after; balance transfer fee applies), plus a welcome bonus of 20,000 miles once you spend $500 on purchases within three months from account opening.
- If you want rewards: Opt for a 2% cash-back card like the Citi Double Cash® Card (see rates and fees). You'll enjoy 2% back on all purchases (1% when you buy and 1% when you pay your statement), including purchases at furniture retailers like Rooms To Go.
Note that some cards — like the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card (see rates and fees) — include both of these features. You earn unlimited cash rewards on eligible purchases and enjoy 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months from account opening (after that, your variable APR will be 18.49%, 24.49%, or 28.49%). You can also earn a $200 cash rewards bonus when you spend $500 in purchases in the first three months.

However, 18 months is generally the longest introductory 0% APR offer you'll find on standard credit cards, so if you're looking for longer interest-free financing on your Rooms To Go purchases, the Rooms To Go card may make sense.

Is the Rooms To Go Credit Card worth it?
For a very small minority, the Rooms To Go card can be worth it. Maybe you're moving into a new house or completely redesigning the furniture in an existing house. Perhaps your home was affected by a natural disaster, and you need new furniture now, even if you're still waiting on an insurance claim to pay out.
In these cases, you may be able to finance those purchases at Rooms To Go with no interest over multiple years.

Note that the retailer's credit card isn't the only way to finance a Rooms To Go purchase. You also have other buy now, pay later services available at checkout — including Klarna and Affirm. That said, be sure to crunch the numbers on any fees and interest to ensure you're not paying more for the same items.
Ultimately, if you want to earn rewards or have the ability to use your card at other merchants, consider other options.

Bottom line
The Rooms To Go Credit Card offers some attractive financing offers for Rooms To Go purchases, but that's the only real reason to consider applying for the card. While it incurs no annual fee, you'll miss out on earning rewards on your purchases and can't use it at any other merchant.
Many other top credit cards may be a better fit, so explore your options before committing to the Rooms To Go card.
